The Gathering At Monument Valley Paramotor Fly In

October 11-13, 2013

Arguably one of the most beautiful paramotor destinations in the world, Monument Valley has been host to small groups of pilots for the last six years during “The Gathering at Monument Valley.”  Thanks to Organizer Joe Onofrio, paramotor pilots have been able to sesh this iconic Southern Utah gem during October’s mild weather; in a non-commercialized and laid back setting.

From Navajonationparks.org:

“This great valley boasts sandstone masterpieces that tower at heights of 400 to 1,000 feet. framed by scenic clouds casting shadows that graciously roam the desert floor. The angle of the sun accents these graceful formations, providing scenery that is simply spellbinding. The landscape overwhelms, not just by its beauty but also by its size.  The fragile pinnacles of rock are surrounded by miles of mesas and buttes, shrubs, trees and windblown sand, all comprising the magnificent colors of the valley.  All of this harmoniously combines to make Monument Valley a truly wondrous experience.”

In the spirit of keeping this event going, Team Fly Halo is helping Joe shoulder some of the workload on the launch apron, as well as spread the word to the seasoned pilots out there that have yet to experience this awesome site.  Monument Valley is no beginner site; at just under 5200′ elevation, your launch skills and equipment must be tip-top.  Additionally, quickly changing weather conditions and giant 1000′ tall monoliths can make flying unpredictable; and at times, unsafe.

We would like to invite those capable pilots looking for an epic flying location and a positive vibe to come join Joe, Team Fly Halo, and all of the other returning “Gathering” attendees that make this event truly special, to come fly this challenging yet rewarding site October 11th-13th.

We encourage you to join the event page on facebook:   https://www.facebook.com/events/136013086565002/?fref=ts  and get ready for one amazing flying experience!
